The Chips Joint Undertaking is organising a series of workshops to explore topics for potential inclusion in the Work Programme 2026. Among topics under consideration is an Innovation Action (IA) topic on Scaling Advanced Photonic Technologies.

Ensuring Europe’s technological leadership in photonics requires accelerated industrial uptake, with a focus on strengthening high-TRL activities and scaling production capabilities. The topic under consideration would support projects at high TRL level (5-8) that drive industrial-scale integration and manufacturing of advanced photonic technologies, with the aim of strengthening the European competitiveness, building strategic autonomy in key components, and securing a resilient supply chain.

The workshop aims to gather insights into the needs, challenges, and priorities of relevant stakeholders in scaling advanced photonic technologies.

The workshop is open to all organisations interested, foreseeing a welcome by the EC and JU, contributions from relevant industry associations, as well as a dedicated part for short interventions by individual stakeholders.
