The Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) is looking for highly qualified external experts to help drive the digital transition in Europe.
By joining our pool of experts, you will play a vital role in evaluating grant applications and monitoring the progress
of cutting-edge funded projects.
Experts are contracted under the standard EU Expert contracts as established in the
Funding & Tenders Portal.
Areas of Expertise
We are seeking specialists whose knowledge aligns with the Chips for Europe Initiative and the latest ECS SRIA objectives. Key areas include:
- ✔ Technology & Manufacturing: Process technology, equipment, materials, and manufacturing.
- ✔ Systems & Integration: Components, modules, system-of-systems, and systems integration.
- ✔ Software & Intelligence: Embedded software, edge computing, and embedded AI.
- ✔ Design & Connectivity: Architecture, design methods/tools, and connectivity solutions.
- ✔ Security & Reliability: Quality, safety, and cybersecurity.
- ✔ Quantum: Advanced quantum technologies and quantum chip fabrication.
- ✔ Application Areas: Mobility, energy, digital industry, health & wellbeing, agrifood, and digital society.
Note: We particularly encourage experts with industrial experience to apply.
How to Participate
Participation is managed through a two-step process:
- ✔ EU expert database: If you do not have an EU Expert ID, please register in the Experts Database of the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
- ✔ Express Interest to Chips JU: Complete our Expert Expression of Interest Form to provide us with your contact details, Expert ID, and specific technical focus.
Important Information
- ✔ Individual Capacity: External experts act in a personal capacity, not as representatives of an organisation.
- ✔ Ethics: All experts must adhere to strict rules regarding Conflicts of Interest.
- ✔ Selection: When an opportunity arises, the Chips JU will contact relevant experts via email to verify availability and discuss next steps.
