G3C

German Chip Competence Centre for Chip-, Heterogenous Integration Systems- and 2.5/3D System Design and fabrication

The German Chip Compentence Centre (G3C) is set to become Europe's central hub for collaborative, application-oriented development in chip/chiplet design, heterogenous integration, and 2.5/3D system design, along with their manufacturing processes. G3C will primarily serve as the initial contact point for users, especially SMEs and start-ups, streamlining access to infrastructure under the Chips Joint Undertaking (JU), including the European Design Platform and Pilot Lines. By acting as a central inteface, G3C ensures efficient and transparent processing of user enquiries. The centre will provide precise suppot for G3C service users, ensuring transparent access to necessary resources and information. G3C aims to advance technical and methodological skills in chip desing and integration systems by offering new training opportunities in collaboration with the Chip Desing University Alliance, the Microtec Academy, and commercial providers. G3C will particulary assist SMEs and start-ups in developing their activities within the Chips initiative framework. The centre will support the Pilot Lines and Design Platform in reaching a broader community and user base. Additionally, G3C will act as a contact and councelling partner for companies seeking funding opportunities, including Chips Fund and regional German incubator programmes. The overarching goal of the centre is to raise the awareness of the opportunities in the semiconductor sector and link actors together to increase the collaboration both within Germany and in Europe.
