LU-CCC

Luxembourg Chips Competence Centre

The Luxembourg Chips Competence Centre (LU-CCC) is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen Luxembourg position in the European semiconductor landscape. Aligned with the EU Chips Act, LU-CCC acts as a national gateway, ensuring that startups, SMEs, and industry players can seamlessly access European semiconductor research, pilot lines, and funding programs. LU-CCC bridges the gap between cutting-edge EU semiconductor resources and Luxembourg’s growing innovation ecosystem. A central pillar of the initiative is technology transfer, ensuring that semiconductor breakthroughs emerging from EU-funded research programs transition into commercial applications. By fostering industry-academic collaboration, LU-CCC will enable Luxembourg-based companies to integrate advanced chip technologies into their products and services, enhancing Europe’s technological sovereignty. To address the semiconductor skills gap, LU-CCC will collaborate with the national research ecosystem, and the European network of Chips Competence Centres. Through specialized training programs, hands-on workshops, and industry-driven initiatives, LU-CCC will ensure that Luxembourg develops and retains highly skilled semiconductor professionals. In addition, LU-CCC will play a key role in funding and investment facilitation, guiding companies through EU funding mechanisms such as the Chips Fund and Horizon Europe, while also fostering private-sector investment in semiconductor ventures. By integrating Luxembourg’s semiconductor activities into the broader European innovation ecosystem, LU-CCC will strengthen cross-border R&D, industrial partnerships, and policy engagement. This initiative not only enhances Luxembourg’s economic competitiveness but also contributes to Europe’s strategic autonomy, secure digital transformation, and leadership in microelectronics innovation.
