ASTEERICS

Attractivity, Services and Training for Energy Efficiency Reach on Integrated Circuits and System.

The ASTEERICS project aims to implement the French microelectronics competence centre that the European Commission plans to roll out across the 27 EU countries. This project is being led by the Minalogic cluster in association with 5 other microelectronics-related clusters (Alpha RLH, images & réseaux, SCS, S2E2, Systematic) and the Jessica France association running the Captronic programme to support SMEs in the electronics sector. Academic training will be provided by the CNFM, which brings together 12 universities and operates the CIME-P chip manufacturing platform. CIME-P provides Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) services in ICs, Si-Photonics, 3D-ICs, MEMS and NVM for prototyping for R&D projects. Semiconductor competence centres will play a key role in strengthening Europe's competitiveness in this strategic sector. By offering a comprehensive range of technical services, training and investment support, they will enable companies of all sizes to develop their capabilities and innovate, thereby helping to achieve the ambitious objectives of the European Chips Act. These centres will enable technological innovation in Europe, fostering a dynamic ecosystem where businesses can thrive and grow. The attractiveness and promotional activities carried out by the centres of excellence will ensure greater visibility and easier access to available resources. The creation of a showcase website, combined with awareness-raising programmes and the organisation of events, will effectively promote the services and success stories of the skills centres. The focus on supporting companies in drawing up business plans, seeking finance and accessing matched cutting-edge technologies will further enhance their attractiveness. In terms of technical training, the Competence Centres will offer advanced programmes covering key areas such as low power SOI design for Mixed-Signal/RF and Digital Integrated Circuits, advanced FD-SOI knowledge, available packaging solutions, circuit testing.
