When Chips JU processes your personal data

The Chips JU, as an EU body, processes personal data collected according to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (EU-GDPR) on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies and on the free movement of such data. Chips JU, as a controller, shall maintain a record of processing activities under its responsibility in a central register. In addition, for reasons of transparency, Chips JU shall make the register publicly accessible (article 31(5) of EU-GDPR). Furthermore, Chips JU shall take appropriate measures to provide transparent information, communication, and modalities for the exercise of the rights of the data subject (articles 14 to 16 of the EU-GDPR).

Data Protection Officer

Based on the law, all EU institutions must appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Chips JU has appointed a DPO. The task of the DPO is to ensure, in an independent manner, that the Union body complies with the data protection law and protects individuals' rights and freedoms by effectively safeguarding their personal data. The Chips JU DPO also collaborates with the DPOs of other EU institutions within the relevant network.

For any questions related to your rights as a data subject, please contact the Chips JU Data Protection Officer at DPO[at]chips-ju.europa.eu. or use the contact form on the Contact Us page.
