Chips JU

The Chips JU is the European public-private partnership that promotes the development and adoption of advanced nano-electronic chip technologies and systems manufactured in Europe.

The Chips JU programme is structured into two parts that address the needs of Europe's semiconductor ecosystem: Chips for Europe Initiative and Electronic Components and Systems Research and Innovation (ECS R&I).

Members

The Chips JU is a European tripartite public-private partnership, that brings together the European Union, Participating States and Private Members to support research, innovation, skills development and large-scale capacity building across the entire semiconductor value chain.

Open and Upcoming Calls

These include the “Chips for Europe” Initiative, which funds strategic actions such as Pilot Lines, the Design Platform, and Competence Centres and the ECS Research and Innovation (R&I) calls, which address a wide range of technological domains, including AI hardware, edge computing, cybersecurity, 6G technologies, energy efficiency, advanced packaging, and photonics.
